Do You Believe In Fairytales?
I remember, a friend asked me: “Baket puros fairytale movies nasa iPod mo?”. I answered: “Kasi nawawala problema ko pagpinapanood ko yan. Sumasaya ko kahit sandali. Ikaw naniniwala ka ba sa fairytales”. He answered: “Nope, pambata yun, baket ikaw?”. I replied: “Yep, hindi ako magsasawang maniwala…”
Got this article here. This best explains why I never and don’t want to stop believing in fairytales Mr. T! :-
Do you believe in fairytales; Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy or even the Easter Bunny? Each of our daily lives revolves around real life situations, real people and real problems. Though it might sound silly, believing in what seems unreal can make everything so simple. Fairytales seem childish but in reality fantasy is a state of mind that can be made real if you believe hard enough. Achieving what most believe is impossible is done by those who don’t believe in impossible but rather believe in fairy tales. Their thoughts are not about failure but rather success and how to obtain it. Successful people move forward eliminating all negative thoughts and disregarding the comments of those that say it can’t be done.
Children don’t question why, they just believe. Santa Claus is not a figment of their imagination but rather someone we as adults taught them to have faith in. The Tooth Fairy, though never seen, is real in the mind of a child. Why? It’s because adults taught them to have faith. Why is it that when we grow up we lose that same faith we had as a child? We lose it and gain nothing in return but worry and limitations. We worry about the simplest things that could easily be resolved with a little faith and a little less thinking. Thought, however, is a good thing but only in the positive sense. Set goals and devise the proper method that will allow you to achieve them. Too much thinking, trying to understand what can’t be understood will stop a person in his or her tracks.
Everything we do is a gamble. Everyday we take risks just by getting out of bed. The amount of risks we take dictate how successful we will be. Be conservative, believe in what others want you to believe and you will maintain a stable life but probably won’t be happy. Go out on a limb, believe the world is round and discover America. Fear is not real but rather something we gain from observation and listening to others. Take a gamble; find out the true answer for yourself. Defy what is known, discover the truth and find that fantasy has no limitations in life.
We look for the perfect mate, the perfect friend and the perfect job yet we never look at what we have at the time and find perfection. In our minds there is always something better and we strive to find it. It’s a fantasy that we want to believe and we allow it to impede our progress in life. In reality most times the fairy tale relationship or dream job that we are looking for is staring us right in the face. Look at what you have and find the good in it. It is a gamble and the risk is that no one is perfect and no one job will make you happy. However, if you have faith, find the good things in what you have and make the best of them your fantasy will become reality without searching at all.
I truly believe there is a Santa Claus, a Tooth Fairy and an Easter Bunny. They are not real in the physical sense yet they live in each of our hearts. Despite any problems in our lives at the time every Christmas we smile, we laugh and we live in anticipation of one day. Santa Claus is not a person but rather a spirit that comes alive in each of us every year. He gives us hope, joy and allows us to expand our horizons and see the beauty in everyone and everything around us. It’s only one day but if we believe we can easily make it 365 days. Believe in fairy tales and defy the impossible. I can assure you nothing will ever overwhelm you again.
I am a different guy when I run as compared to when I work and when I’m alone. In order to run the distances I have in the past I refuse to allow reality in my life at all. At work I am a responsible, dedicated person with a position that has no room for anything other than reality. When I’m alone my mind wanders and my thoughts lean in the direction of how others perceive me. I allow those thoughts to limit my actions because I’m afraid to take a risk and find out the true answer for myself. In the future this will no longer be the case. I believe in fairytales and my fairytale will come true. I hope through my writing others may also see that life can be easier with a little faith.
